Glides Over Cracks

Coming Soon: Final Design in Process

The Skweeg-It concept was born in Colorado at an elevation of 7400Ft. In the winter, Colorado receives some snow falls that require a snowblower or a shovel and many between 2 and 6 inches that required a better solution. The idea was to provide a quick solution to move  snow off driveways before they were driven on and packed down to become ice. This solution would not require the lifting associated with a shovel or the noise associated with a snowblower.

In simple terms Skweeg-It is a handle attached to a blade.

The blade is molded material with an attached rubber skirt that follows the contour of the blade. The blade can be any width but the current implementations are 3 or 4 feet in width. The blade has forward leading edges articulated at an angle on each end. These edges trap the snow as the blade is pushed forward across a surface. The blade is unique in that it is not rigid, it can twist and flex which allows it glide over cracks and other irregularities in the surface. In addition, the blade will flex if it comes in contact with an object like landscaping along a driveway or a tire on a vehicle parked in your driveway. These features reduce the possibility of injury to the operator or damage to property.

The handle can be locked in three different positions where it attaches to the blade. With the

handle locked in the position opposite the blade forward edges, material can be pushed forward. With the handle locked in a position in the same direction of the blade forward edges, material can be pulled away from a barrier (for example a wall, garage door or steps). Finally, the handle can be locked in a vertical position in line with the blade face to be used like a broom or stored flat against a wall.

Skweeg-It can be used on surfaces like painted and composite decks or other decorative surfaces without scratching or marring.

Skweeg-it is useful in applications besides snow.

  1. It can be used remove the combined snow, water and gravel that drops from the car to the garage floor after driving on a winter day.

  2. It can be used to push excess water from a surface like a garage floor.

  3. It can be used to push leaves, pine needles and other debris off driveways, walks, garages and decks.

  4. It can be used on lawns collect leaves where it doesn’t pull out grass as can happen with a rake.
